Been sleeping lots lately...anyways..here are two paintings including the sketch jam for Native Indian. Painted using negative shapes etc and tried to put enough details to be able to tell what the picture is. I did The Paladin painting last week for my digital tools assignment but our class got an extension. So i don't think I'll be handing in the Paladin anymore instead i will hand this native Indian on horse painting. And now back to my hmks and more trance/ techno music or sleep!! I-tunes has some neat music stations btw ....
Besides some drawings i wanted to post this sexy car from the autoshow. The auto show was really good.
I made sure i got my moneys worth by getting all the free goodies lol, lots of pics on various cars . Good refrences if i ever feel like drawing some cars.
Life drawings from last friday. Also got some older life drawings from back when i was in life drawing etc.
30 secs
2mins
5mins
i forgot to write down how long these are..but it seems like 2mins, 5 mins and 10 mins.
Lol So these are my old life drawing stuff
I used to do a whole bunch of these scribbly gestures, pretty much what Werner tells us to do now. And this was when i was in the workshop. It seems like a pretty pointless study but it actually helps in the long run. I still do this to warm up.
old gestures. I just used to work inside out and include shapes. So my main focus was getting the rhythm of the pose in my gestures rather than focusing on outlines.
These bottom two life drawings were like 1 hr studies and this was before the workshop during art fundies. During this time i just knew how to draw what i could see but i couldn't imagine the actual person in 3d and i didnt know much about bones either. So the only thing i knew was to draw details and draw line for line.
And this is my ancient device i used to train my eye which i was doing during the workshop. Apparently the old life drawing masters used this also. I used this tool to help block out positive and negative shapes and to see things in proportion. Its about the size of my palm and a bit bigger. Oh and the way you use this device is by holding it straight with one arm and closing one eye and only using the other eye to see through it and look at the figure. Its used for only long studies 10mins to 1hr or longer. I found it quite frustrating at first but after seeing the results i think it was quite worth it and didn't hesitate to use it again and again even thou i would get weird looks from other people during life drawing sessions.
So pretty much i drew grids on my life drawing pads about the same ratio as my device.. and i drew the figure using shapes only. Then on another layer i would draw out the contour lines around the shape and trying to feel out the form as i draw the contour. It wasn't just plainly outlining ...it had to be selective lines. I did studies previously of a old life drawing master to help me study selective lines and line quality.
So overall i did quite a lot of studies to get where i am at now eh..i still have most of my old life drawings, its not the prettiest thing but i always go back and look at em to remind of myself how far i have come along. I did a bunch of other studies like negative space drawings, blind contour or even 10 second gestures or less.
lol...kept playing around in photoshop and this is what came out of it. new style ? lvl up? i dunno ? but i like it ...finally produced something different.

kono Pink no Buta ( pink pig )...a phrase stuck in my head after watching eps 3 of yama onna Tabe onna (mountain woman Wall woman). Its a funny drama if you like watching japanese drama etc. watch it on crunchyroll.com. Ohh i think i found a great game to play to pass time when i am bored at the studio ... its called hackey sack? i just need to buy one of those now. Anyways here are some life drawings i did over the 2 weeks. Some of em the proportions fall of or things shrink etc but overall it still looks descent. Also here is a digital tools assignment i'll be handing in this Wednesday. For this assignment we had to design our own character and color it and add 3 textures. Two friends of mine wanted to do some Golem designs, fire golem, ice golem etc... so i decided to join in and do one also. At first i was thinking of doing electrical golem but that doesnt make too much sense... the whole idea of a golem being all electric type and what not... So i decided to go with Neutral type golem, something associated with nature feeling. the actual drawing took like 50 mins or so but the coloring part was challenging which took like 10 hrs or so. As i was painting this, in my head i was screaming " when will this end !!" " This is Madness !" "Shimatta !! " but on the outside i had a totally calm look lol. alright.... Ja Mata.
Original line art ( wanna color lol ? let me know if you attempted, i wanna see ^^)
Nature Golem ( 10 - 11 hrs spent jeez...)
2mins - 30 secs
5mins - 10 mins
lol this one looked funny upside down
warrior pose ? "i'll show you the way of my kung fu !" (just imagine him saying those words)
